Week One!!!!

  • Mood: Staying Alive! Staying Alive!
Wow! Week One of NaNoWriMo is over! It was a rough week trying to balance real life with writing. It was also tough trying to figure out which scenes I wanted to work on. I'm not looking at the outline that I made years ago for this novel. I'm not even looking at the prequel, Group X: Sub Rosa, which I'm still working on, though the flashback in the prequel is part of what I'm writing now.

Grande White Chocolate Mochas consumed for week 1: 2, treats for me for writing so much and to stay up

Week two started out with a bang with 3,168 words. I crossed the 10K barrier yesterday with 10,283. Still a little behind, but I'm getting there! Go Muse!

An excerpt from the beginning paragraph, my first words written ,  that doesn't spoil the prequel...

Memorial Gardens
3:25 PM

The fog hung low, covering the grounds in a white shroud. The cold mist was stirred by unexpected winds whipping between the talismans of the dead. Somberly standing in front of an ornately decorated placard was someone who kept his promises. This promise he would endeavor to keep til his death. He glanced around feeling eyes watching him. It was a familiar feeling, but one that he wasn't expecting.
